My name is Karina, I'm 20 years old, I'm from Germany and I'm an au-pair in Sydney. To be an au-pair in another country is just a great experience. After my school leaving exam I just needed a time-out and wanted to get to know another country. But during my stay I found out it's more than that. It's like another live and it's just fantastic. To live in a family and to look after children, a job I really like was the best opportunity for me to do this year. I got to know so much more than I thought, like another family live, another culture, another livestyle and even more about myself. I can just suggest take your chance and make an experience you'll never forget.

My name is Karly and I completed the JCR Au Pair online course in 2008. It helped me to obtain employment as a full time nanny- with a family I stayed with for over two years! (so thank you for that!) I have nannied for other families for short periods of time, while studying at uni. I am now interested in being placed as an Au Pair through JCR in France for next year. I am now more than qualified to au pair overseas, and eager to get started with the application process. If you could let me know as how to proceed, that would be wonderful. Thank you and very kind regards, Karly H Australia.
Hi JCR
I would say being an aupair in Australia was the best time of my life so far. My host family became my second family. I l oved to spend time with the kids, even though i wasn't working. I became a part of the family. In my free time i met other nannies or travelled through Australia. I met other girls from Germany and we became good friends. I am glad that i had the opportunity to do so much travelling through Australia. Australia is so beautiful, it is so big and has so many different sides. The Australian are very open minded and always friendly and helpful. I will never forget my time in Australia. I recommend everybody to spend a year abroad, even if it is hard to be separate from your family and your friends for a long time, in the end you will always remember a year full of adventures.
Kind regards,
Lena from Germany
Wow! Life out here in Ayers Rock is better than I could ever have imagined. The family are absolutely fantastic. I'm treated as one of the family members and they have really gone out of their way to make sure I've settled in. I've made some great friends in such a short time, and have already seen parts of Australia I never dreamed of seeing. Thank you so much for this making this once in a life time opportunity possible
Hello JCR
How are you? Just wanted to say hello! I went to Melbourne for a short visit 4 weeks ago. It was so nice to see "my family" at least for one day. I am still very thankful that you organised this family for me. They will be always in my heart! Take care, Christine
Hello, my Name is Christine and i am from Germany. I came to Australia to get to kn ow this country and the people who live here. I think really the best way to experience the "australian lifestyle" is to work as an au pair. I was working for a family in Melbourne with 2 children. The family treated me like a family member, told me a lot about Australia and i had enough time to explore the city. A wonderful experience which i won't forget!
I'm not home yet but in about 17 hours. I'm in Singapore right now. Thanks again for the effort in placing me in such a nice family. I had a great time and I hope lots of other au-pairs as well. It is such a good experience. I wish you all the best for your future, thanks again, Karina
