Australia is a very large country. There are many places to visit. Sydney and Melbourne are the largest cities with Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide being much of a size with about one million people. Families come from all over the country from rural areas, country towns, smaller cities and towns as well as the big cities. English is the language spoken although as there are people living here from many different countries you can hear many different languages spoken. There are lovely beaches, rain forests, national parks. museums, art galleries, wonderful shops, arcades and malls. The train and bus services are excellent. Life is for living and enjoying in Australia. There are many places for young people to go to, to enjoy themselves, coffee bars, restaurants, wine bars, clubs, movies, theatres, parks, recreation areas.

This program is open to Australians age 18 and over wishing to aupair in any State of Australia as well as aupairs from all the countries listed below.
Au Pair Age group: 18 - 30 inclusive. Single Females may apply.
Education: Completed final year High School. Families will accept pre-final year completion if followed by other studies or practical childcare experience.
Childcare Experience: Minimum 50 hours but 200 hours is preferred. This can be any fairly regular interaction with children, not related to you, up to age 12. Experience with children related to you is acceptable but only in addition to that of non-related children.
Period of Commitment: 6,9,12 month placements all year round. Placements of less than 6 months are not available.
Visa:
12 month Working Holiday Visa. Applied for on line. USA 12 month Work & Holiday Visa. Applied for on line. New Zealand citizens do not need a visa to au pair in Australia.
All applications for visas must be applied for from one' own country.
Au pairs from the following countries can apply for the Working Holiday visa to Australia: Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, U.K. Au pairs from the following countries can apply for the Work and Holiday Visa. Chile, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, USA.
Applicants to Australia should speak English well as English is the language spoken in Australia and families want their children spoken to in English. You would be welcome to teach the children something of your own language.
All positions are live in. You pay your own airfare and travel health insurance. All salaries are quoted net of tax unless advised otherwise.
AU PAIR
Work for 25 - 45 hours per week.
Care of children plus some light housework which could include cooking, ironing, shopping, dusting, vacuuming.
Baby sit for 1-2 evenings per week as part of duties.
Driver's licence preferable. Possible limited private use of family vehicle in free time.
Be a non smoker.
Able to speak English of above average level.
Be willing and able to adapt to another culture.
Be emotionally mature, flexible and able to adapt easily.
Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
 IN YOUR AU PAIR WORLD YOU GET

- You receive an amount between AU$150 and AU$270 per week depending on the number of hours worked and level of experience, as pocket money.

When doing your application, all documentation must be supplied in English. The Dear Host Family Letter should be written in English. All applicants will be expected to speak English during the telephone interview.
There are reciprocal agreements in terms of using Australia's national health scheme [Medicare] with Finland, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, and the UK.
The amount paid to you is generous pocket money and should be accepted as that. It is suggested that should you wish to travel in Australia, you take additional money with you or a debit card.
Australia is well placed to visit New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philppines, Thailand, Vietnam and many of the Pacific Islands.
