Brussels is a beautiful olde-world city with much to offer by way of atmosphere, interesting places to visit and great restaurants. Antwerp and Leuven are both a bus ride from Brussels, with wonderful art galleries, lovely shops, eating places and historical buildings. Ghent and Brugge are lovely cities too. There are many museums and theatres. Public transport is excellent. There are movies, restaurants, clubs and pubs. Belgium is not only a very cultured and cosmopolitan country but is also the centre of the European Union and is well placed for visiting other European countries.
