AU PAIR IN SWITZERLAND
JCR Aupairs & Nannies is the most trusted aupair/nanny agency for safe and secure placements and "in country" back up and support.
Au pair Age Group: between 18 and 24. Females and males may apply .
Education: Completed year 10 or higher.
Childcare Experience: Minimum 50 hours but up to 200 hours is preferred. This can be any fairly regular interaction with children not related to you, up to age 12. Experience with children related to you is acceptable but only in addition to that of non related children. Qualified or well experienced applicants are welcome on this program.
Period of Commitment: 12 months placements all year round. This is the preferred length of stay but families may consider a 6 month stay.
Summer aupair mid June - mid September. Not available
Visa: Work permit for length of stay. The work permit is not renewable.
Applicants to Switzerland must speak English well as families wish their children to learn to speak English. All positions are live in. All salaries are quoted net of tax. For stays of 12 months families will assist with the cost of the round trip airfare.
AU PAIR
- Work 25 hours per week plus 1-2 evenings babysitting.
- Childcare and light housework which could include, shopping, dusting, vacuuming, ironing.
- Be a non smoker.
- Have a valid driving license.
- Be willing to go to language school.
- Be willing and able to adapt to another culture.
- Have a good sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
- Be emotionally mature, flexible and able to adapt easily.
IN YOUR AU PAIR WORLD YOU GET
- Your own comfortable room, shared or own bathroom.

- Full board and lodge.
- 1.5 - 2 days free per week, usually over a weekend.
- Health insurance provided by the family.
- For a commitment of 1 year, a minimum of four weeks paid vacation are provided.
- Earn 600 Sw Francs per month.
- Full back up and support from JCR's associates in Switzerland and JCR Head Office.

Au Pair General Information
JCR doesn't offer live out placements. All placements with a family are live in.
There is a once off levy of Swiss Fr 260 to be paid by the aupair during the 1st month of stay.
You attend 4 language classes per week paid for by the host family
Our families are based in German speaking East Switzerland and French speaking West Switzerland. It is advisable that applicants have some knowledge of either German or French. Most families want you to speak English with their children but they will speak to you in the local language enabling you to learn.
We suggest that all applicants have at least 200 words of basic German or French before they leave. Knowing some vocabulary will help you to settle in. There are good books and internet sites to learn from. Try www.rosettastone.com
The application for a work permit is a slow one. It can take up to 8 weeks before the necessary documentation from Switzerland reaches us so that you can apply to the Swiss Consulate for your work permit and permission to enter Switzerland to be an aupair.
JCR will provide full information on applying for the au pair work permit and will provide full assistance prior to the visa application.
It is best to apply for this country at least 5 months in advance of when you would like to go.
The amount paid to you is pocket money and should be accepted as that. It is suggested that should you wish to travel in Europe, you take additional money with you or a debit card.
Switzerland is well placed to visit France, Germany, Italy, Austria.
There is always a demand for aupairs and those with a qualification are highly valued. Families will give preference to applicants with the JCR childminding/aupair certificate. Obtain your aupair certificate now through the on-line JCR Aupair course. Benefit by being given priority placement.
